Bhojpuri is also spoken in Guyana, Suriname, Fiji, Trinidad and Tobago
and Mauritius and is often said to be the only Indian language to be

many great writers, poets, sports men and women, leaders and artists to
the country. Noted Hindi writers Acharya Ram Chandra Shukla (from Bheri
village on banks of Rapti), Dr. Vidya Niwas Mishra, Dr. Ram Darash
Mishra and Bhojpuri Poets Moti BA and Ram Nawal Mishra are from this
region.
Chaurichaura dot com team visited native village
(Dumari) of Shri Ram Nawal Mishra, a known Bhojpuri Kavi and recorded
some of his bhojpuri geets for viewers of Chaurichaura dot com. At age
of 84 years, Mishra ji is still very active despite of his ill health
and attends Kavi Sammelans. Every year on January 2nd, he organises a
Kavi Sammelan in his village Dumari to celebrate his birthday.
